About Me
I was born in Jackson, Mississippi, and I spent the first 11 years of my life in the deep south of Vicksburg, Mississippi. While it was a great place to grow up, I definitely prefer the Rocky Mountains and the Colorado weather! My family moved to Windsor in 1999. I later attended Colorado State University, studying music education. During my undergrad, I was introduced to a specialized method of music education founded by the Hungarian philosopher and composer Zoltán Kodály. Because of my passion for this sequential and developmentally appropriate standard of teaching, I pursued and completed a master's degree in Music Education with a concentration in the Kodály Method.
I live in Milliken and love Colorado. I enjoy spending time in the sunshine, hiking, walking, biking, listening to blue-grass music, slacklining, playing guitar or piano, playing soccer, watching great movies, swing dancing, contra-dancing, making crafts, spending time with friends, finding great quotes, and going places. The best place I ever visited was a little village in Switzerland called Gimmelwald, where the enormous Swiss Alps were right outside my window. The photograph above was taken at the top of the Vatican in Rome. My husband and I enjoy traveling, especially to Alaska!
Something I would like to learn more about is photography and movie making. I would like to get better at watercolor painting. My husband and I had a baby last May, and we love him more than anything. I enjoy being with my family, and I am so thankful to have such wonderful people in my life.
